A trip to Turtle Back Zoo

We’ve been thinking of trying some new things around NJ since we really haven’t spent a lot of time exploring our surroundings quite yet. Last weekend we picked out a spot that we thought Norah would enjoy, Turtle Back Zoo, and it turns out she had a lot of fun. The day started off with talking about going to the zoo to see some animals to get her interested and it worked. At the zoo we some some (cue Norah voice) “pinguins, ducks, froggie!, birds, chickuns and kittie”. Norah went on her first ride on a carousel while sitting on a fierce lion with Mom, although she started to look a little green as it kept going around. She was very enthusiastic as it started, each time it went around she’d look for me and wave, but towards the end Mom had taken off her hat and glasses in hopes that she’d get a little color back in her, and she did. After the carousel Norah played in the sprinklers with a big metal turtle with many screams of joy while “runnnin” around it with various other kids that came through. Later Norah rode her first pony and seemed to enjoy it, well at least she didn’t cry during it. Photos and video from the day are below, enjoy!
